Big behind the scenes changes are coming for Pennsylvania's elections.
The Shapiro Administration has chosen the company Civix to create a streamlined elections management system.
The program will be phased in over time and is designed, among other things, to make it easier for ballots to be counted on Election Night.
It will also integrate the current campaign finance website for easier access to reports on donors.
“The Shapiro Administration prioritized procuring this contract as part of its continuing commitment to secure elections. A modern, streamlined election management system is a critical tool that our 67 county boards of elections need, and our voters expect,” Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt said. “We’re excited to work with Civix to customize and fully implement the new system by 2028.”
The new system should be fully in place in time for the 2028 election.
