In the first three months of 2021, Pennsylvania set another record for the number of firearms background checks in the state.
According to the State Police, 427,450 checks were made from January 1 through March 31, marking the third consecutive quarter for record volume of checks.
In fourth quarter of 2020 (October - December), 420,581 checks were conducted and in third quarter of 2020 (July - September), 406,151 checks were conducted.
Comparing first quarter of this year with first quarter of 2020, background checks were up 33%.
