PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) – Pennsylvania Lottery officials announced that Powerball® players now have an extra night to win the big jackpot. In addition to the Powerball® drawings on Wednesday and Saturdays, the multi-state game will now have a Monday night drawing too.
"By adding the Monday night drawing we expect to see faster-growing jackpots, and in turn, an increase in sales as we attract new players," said Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko. "And that's good news for Pennsylvania seniors, who benefit from vital, life-sustaining programs that the Lottery funds."
The third drawing will not change the Powerball® game odds or cash prizes and all 48 U.S. lotteries will sell tickets for the Monday night Powerball® drawing.
Another addition to the new Powerball® is that Pennsylvania players can add Double Play® to their purchase. For an additional $1 per play, players have another chance to win with their Powerball® numbers in a separate drawing with top cash prize of $!0 million.
