
Redistricting takes place every 10 years, or every time there is a census.
Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff, Senate Majority Leader Kim Ward, House Minority Leader Joanna McClinton and Senate Minority Leader Jay Costa were all appointed to the legislative redistricting commission.
These four leaders will determine the fifth member - the chair of the committee - over the next six weeks.
For people in the districts that will be reconfigured, what will change?
"What will change is who they will vote for and the nature of those districts, in terms of how the lines are drawn. We always have an obligation to make certain that we keep communities of interest together," Sen. Costa said during the KDKA Radio Morning Show Thursday.
