Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro signed an Executive Order Tuesday aimed at improving the state's online services.

The order established the Commonwealth Office of Digital Experience, also known as CODE PA.

The goal is to make the government's digital services responsive, user friendly and accessible for renewing vehicle registrations, applying for vocational licenses, to even visiting a state park.

"If we truly want to build a customer service oriented experience online that is quicker and more user friendly, and if we truly want to open up the doors of opportunity for all, then we must do everything we can to improve our digital services here in the Commonwealth," Shapiro said.

Increasingly, Pennsylvanians are going online to connect with government. One example is the number of people filing tax returns through the Department of Revenue's system, now up to 91 percent of all returns.

Also a growing number of people interact with the Commonwealth entirely online.
