A mix of rain, sleet and snow will move through the area Monday evening and PennDOT is advising drivers to avoid unnecessary travel due to possibly hazardous road conditions in some areas.
Accuweather meteorologist Bob Larson said "For much of the air, cold rain will be falling tonight, occasionally mixed with a little sleet and snow during the early nighttime hours and temperatures will be very near the freezing mark, so untreated surfaces - particularly bridges and overpasses can be slick."
The laurel highlands could see up to an inch of snow in places.
