
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The Pirates welcomed three to their Hall of Fame Thursday night, all three won World Series with the Bucs. A look at what made Al Oliver, Vernon Law and Kiki Cuyler worthy of induction.
Al Oliver (OF, 1B, DH)
· 17 consecutive years of at least 100 hits
· 8 years of at least 175 hits
· 2 seasons of 200 hits
· led the National League with 204 hits at age 35. That season he also led the NL in doubles (43), RBI (109) and batting average (.331) & finished third in the MVP voting.
· 11 seasons over .300 (9 straight from 1976-1984)
· Led NL in doubles in 1983 at age 36 with 38
· 10 different seasons got votes for MVP
· Won 3 straight Silver Sluggers (1980-82) at 3 positions (OF, 1B, DH)
· 7 time All-Star

Vernon Law (RHP)

· 1960 post-season 2-0, 3.44 ERA, 3 starts, 18.1IP
· In 16 years finished with a 3.77 ERA
· Pitched for 2 seasons, served in the military for the next 2 during the Korean Conflict, then pitched 14 years
Kiki Cuyler (OF)
· A member of the Baseball Hall of Fame
· 7 of his 18 years with the Pirates (1921-27)
· Career Pirates numbers .336 average, .399 on-base, .912 OPS, 115 doubles, 65 triples, 38 HR, 130 SB
· In 1925 in 153g scored 144 runs and led the NL with 26 triples. In 701 plate appearances, he hit .357 with a .423 on-base percentage, 1.021 OPS, 41 stolen bases and finished 2nd in the MVP voting (by 12 votes) to Rogers Hornsby, who hit .403/1.245 OPS
