PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It was expected and now official, Steelers starting guard for the last 36 games before a season-ending Achilles injury will sign with Miami. NFL Network reports James Daniels will get three years, $24 million.
The 27-year-old Daniels has already played seven seasons in the NFL, 90 games between the Steelers and Chicago Bears. The Warren, Ohio native was the Bears second round pick in 2018 out of Iowa.
Daniels was the 35th best player overall and fifth best guard available in free agency according to Pro Football Focus. The Steelers drafted Mason McCormick last year to take over for Daniels. Because of the injury, McCormick ended starting 14 games as a rookie.
