PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – He retired at such a young age and not directly due to injury, you wondered if he would be tempted to play in the NFL again. Wednesday, Pitt and Penn Hills legend Aaron Donald worked out for a potential comeback with the Rams.
It became public since he used Rams equipment, he had to be listed on the NFL transactions for Wednesday.
Interesting that it’s labeled as a tryout, the Rams have said if he wants to come back there is a roster spot for him. Los Angeles added Myles Garrett in the offseason and veteran Poona Ford is listed as the nose tackle with Kobie Turner and Braden Fiske at defensive end.
The 35-year-old is one of the greatest defensive linemen in NFL history and last Fall had his number at Pitt and with the Rams retired. Donald announced his football retirement in March of 2024 after 10 seasons winning Defensive Player of the Year three times and voted First-Team All-Pro nine others. Donald had 111 sacks, 176 tackles for loss, 260 quarterback hits in 154 games.
