The Steelers are now in Paris and while Aaron Rodgers would’ve liked to get there earlier in the week, he feels safe in the city amid protests and civil unrest.
Speaking to reporters after the team’s arrival on Friday, the Steelers’ quarterback said he’s away of the situation but trusts the league.
“I definitely think that the NFL’s alert to what’s going on and this game means a lot to the NFL and if it was unsafe, I’m sure we wouldn’t be here,” said Rodgers.
93.7 The Fan’s Andrew Fillipponi says he’s talked with members of the Steelers organization and that the concerns appear to be a “media creation.”
“Neither of them think(s) there’s any chance it affects or interferes with the game on Sunday,” said Poni.
This is Rodgers’ four game over seas with two in London and last year with the Steelers in Dublin.
He says every time he’s flown over, it’s been later in the week, something he says comes down to a decision by the organization.
But he wishes in one of his trips he could’ve come over sooner to enjoy some of the sights of Europe.
“Getting acclimated has its advantages, obviously there’s science behind coming later in the week, I’ve been a part of three international games, came on Thursday night and arrived Friday morning every time and we’re 1-2, so, I don’t know what that says,” said Rodgers.
