Steelers owner Art Rooney II and Acrisure CEO Greg Williams met with the media today to officially introduce Acrisure Stadium.

Soon the “Heinz Field” signs will be coming down and will be replaced with “Acrisure Stadium.”

But Rooney said there’s a possibility the giant ketchup bottles will hang around on the score board.

Speaking during the news conference, Rooney said the organization “appreciates” the over 20-year partnership with Heinz and hope to continue some form of sponsorship.

“We’re having those discussions, who knows, the ketchup bottle could be a part of those, we’ll see,” said Rooney.

In a tweet on Monday after the news was made official, Heinz sent out a tweet saying while the stadium won’t be named after the company anymore, they still plan on being involved in some capacity.

Rooney confirmed that they didn’t shut out any company and talked to several locally, but Acrisure had the best offer that he feels will make they competitive with other teams in the NFL and their naming rights deals.

The deal also doesn’t affect the RAD tax or lease, which has eight more years before that is up. Rooney says he plans to renew that when the time is right.

“As I said, we’re looking to have as competitive a situation as we can both with our naming rights and with our lease,” said Rooney.

Williams also talked about being a lifelong Steeler fan and how he fell in love with the Steelers of the 1970s.

He said his favorite moment was the first Super Bowl in 1974.

“It was cool to see and to break through because you could see that the talent and everything else was there,” said Williams.
