PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Starting outside linebacker Alex Highsmith said 1000% he feels confident he will play in the Steelers season opener after dealing with a groin injury for much of training camp.
“I’ve been feeling great,” Highsmith said after practice Monday. “I’ve been doing a lot of rehab over the past few weeks just making myself right. They are working me back in slowly. Been doing a lot of team stuff this week, so I feel really good, really close to 100%.”
Highsmith said he’s frustrated that the groin injury popped up again. It’s the same injury that caused him to miss a few games last year. He feels though he’s done a lot of things to make sure it doesn’t happen again going forward including stretching more.
Mike Tomlin said he was almost a full participant in practice 13 days out from the first game.
“I’m feeling great, ready to get out there for Week 1.”
