PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – We looked at 25 of the biggest mock drafts to figure out who they predict will be the Steelers first-round pick Thursday night just outside of Acrisure Stadium on the North Shore.




Of the 25 different mocks, 12 different names.

Three were mentioned more than twice.

And one clear favorite.

Guard Olaivavega Ioane, Penn State

  • selected by six different experts including ESPN’s dean of NFL draft coverage Mel Kiper, one of the most accurate in mock draft percentages-Walter Football’s Charlie Campbell and three from NFL.com.
  • Ranked by a few experts as the best overall offensive lineman in the draft, Ioane is 6’4”, 320 pounds. He had the second-best total score at the NFL Combine. Started 27 games over the last two seasons at PSU, second-team All-American
  • Selections-Mel Kiper (ESPN), Field Yates (ESPN), Charlie Campbell (Walter Football), Eric Edholm (NFL.com), Chad Reuter (NFL.com), Rhett Lewis (NFL.com)

There were two players mentioned three times

Safety Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, Toledo

  • 6’3”, 201 pound Third-Team All-American despite playing in a non-Power Four conference (MAC). Third best safety score at the NFL Combine and NFL.com projects him to be a plus starter in the NFL.
  • Selections-Garrett Podell (CBS Sports), Jacob Infante (Pro Football Network), Bucky Brooks (NFL.com)

Quarterback Ty Simpson, Alabama

  • One of the more polarizing picks of the 2026 draft, NFL.com projects him to be a plus starter. Had the 4th best QB score at the NFL Combine completed 64.5%, 3567 yards, 28 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, captain
  • Selections-Mike Renner (CBS Sports), Keith Sanchez (The Draft Network), Tony Pauline (Essentially Sports)

  • 6’6”, 317 pound OT had the second-best total score at the NFL Combine benching 225 pounds 32 times. Started 54 consecutive games at right tackle and NFL.com lists him as a plus starter in the NFL
  • Selections-Josh Edwards (CBS Sports), Vinnie Iyer (The Sporting News)

Offensive tackle, Kadyn Proctor, Alabama

  • 2nd Team All-American, best lineman in SEC starting all 15 games at left tackle. 6’6”, 352 pounds projected to be a good starter in two years by NFL.com
  • Selections-Blake Brockermeyer (CBS Sports), Matt Miller (ESPN)

Edge rusher, TJ Parker, Clemson

  • 6’3”, 263-pound edge was Honorable Mention All-ACC with 9.5 tackles for loss and 5 sacks last year after 19.5 tackles for loss and 11 sacks in 2024. Parker will be an average starter per NFL.com.
  • Selections- Peter Schrager (ESPN), Conor Orr (Sports Illustrated)

  • 3rd in FBS in 2025 with 13 receiving touchdowns projected to be a plus starter by NFL.com at 6’, 199 pounds. In 2024 averaged 21.2 yards per reception, fourth in FBS.
