Last week, free agent running back Le'Veon Bell reminded everyone on Twitter that he will return to greatness in 2021.
responding to someone who said it was the Steelers system that made him who he was, Bell said that the Steelers were the only team that has given him and opportunity in his NFL career and that is why he has floundered since leaving Pittsburgh.
"Lol the only difference with the steelers was they gave me opportunity... haven't had that since I left, I probably need to play for a defensive minded head coach instead of these offensive minded guru's..."
Bell's stint in New York resulted in 3.2 yards per carry despite nearly 250 attempts, which was second-to-last out of 47 qualified players.
If memory serves correctly, Bell has made similar predictions since 2018, when he held out the entire NFL season and refused to sign his Franchise Tag with the Steelers.
Another Twitter user point that out saying, "Shoulda took that Steelers contract when you had the chance."
Bell, sticking to his guns, responded, "they should've paid me what I wanted when they had the chance."
Bell's Franchise Tag in 2018 would've paid him $14.52 million and the Steelers also offered him a long-term contract of $70 million over five years.
In 2019, Bell signed a four-year $52 million contract with the Jets and made $14.97 his first season with New York.
He was then paid $4.6 million before being cut by the Jets last season. He signed with the Chiefs and had little impact on them making a second straight Super Bowl, but failing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
