Retired Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger bumped legendary sports broadcaster Bob Pompeani for Heath Miller on his “Footbahlin” podcast this weekend.

Not only that, but mispronounced Pomp’s last name saying, “Pomp-ee-AHH-nee”

To make it up to Bob, Ben had him by the house on Monday night to record another episode of the podcast.

Pomp tells Cook & Joe on Tuesday that Roethlisberger doubled-down on the mispronunciation, saying that’s how it’s said in “the Old Country”.

Something that Pomp actually agreed with.

Pomp talked about the experience of recording in Roethlisberger’s basement, all of the memorabilia and other highlights of the palatial estate.

Pomp and Big Ben enjoyed some beers but Bob said snacks weren’t provided so he couldn’t imbibe too much because he had to get back to KDKA-TV for the 11 p.m. news.

Pompeani says at the front gate to Ben’s house, he found a bunch of Amazon packages and put them in his car to deliver them.

Roethlisberger joked that they were outgoing so Bob thought he had to take them back.

Pomp believes the episode will be released sometime on Tuesday.

Pomp also credited Roethlisberger’s old show on 93.7 The Fan for his ability to do the podcast so well.

“The show you (Ron Cook) did with him, had a lot to do with why I think he’s doing this,” said Pompeani.
