Who?

I guess the phrase is true. Pompin’ ain’t easy.

Legendary Pittsburgh sports broadcaster Bob Pompeani, who has his own weekly Saturday show on The Fan and is in with Cook & Joe every Monday, just celebrated 40 years at KDKA-TV.

Everyone knows who Pomp is.

He’s interviewed and talked to the most important Pittsburgh sports figures for decades.

He’s THE guy.

But even Pomp gets bumped every now and then.

During his “Footbahlin” Podcast, Ben Roethlisberger said he had to bump Pomp because Heath Miller was in town to be inducted into the Steelers Hall of Honor.

But that wasn’t the only insult!

Roethlisberger called him “Pomp-ee-AHHN-ee” Not PompEani.

Roethlisberger apologized, along with Miller who also called him “Pomp-ee-AHHNE-ee.

Pompeani says that will be the first thing he addresses when he does go on Roethlisberger’s podcast but added, “it’s no big deal", laughing it off.

Pomp said he will be on Roethlisberger’s podcast this coming week.

Roethlisberger isn’t the only one who mispronounced his name.

A few years back, Broncos broadcaster Mike Klis was described by Cook & Joe as the “Bob Pompeani of Denver.”

Kils also said Pomp-ee-AHHN-ee.

And just last week, Starkey blew off Pomp when they were supposed to play golf.

Pompin’ ain’t easy.
