The Cleveland Browns can finally brag about something, well sort of.
With the Browns beating the Houston Texans on Sunday at home, quarterback Baker Mayfield is the winningest quarterback in the history of FirstEnergy Field passing…Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Mayfield now has 12 victories at the stadium compared to Roethlisberger’s 11.
Roethlisberger only plays in Cleveland once a year and has amassed those wins since he entered the league in 2004.
Roethlisberger has more wins than former Browns QBs Jeff Garcia, Trent Dilfer, Charlie Frye, Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, Colt McCoy, Brandon Weeden, Jason Campbell, Brian Hoyer, Johnny Manziel, Josh McCown, Cody Kessler and DeShone Kizer.
That’s 13 Browns QBs and doesn’t count backup quarterbacks like Robert Griffin III and Tyrod Taylor.
So after years of Browns fans having to know the winningest quarterback in FirstEnergy Field was a Steeler, they now have at least one thing they can hang their hat on.
There is a chance for Mayfield to add to his lead with three games at home remaining for Cleveland, but one of those matchups are against Roethlisberger and the Steelers, meaning Ben could be once again tied for the most wins in Cleveland with a victory on January 3, assuming the Browns don’t win another home game.
They will also play the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens at home.
