It’s been well documented that Pirates relief pitcher David Bednar is excited to be on his home town team.

The Mars native grew up a Pirates fan and now finally gets a chance to take the field at PNC Park in a Bucs uniform.

But he’s not just in black and gold, he’s also gone full Yinzer on us.

Last week, Bednar defended Primanti Bros.
sandwiches saying “I think French fries on everything is always a good thing.”

Bednar turned it up even more on Thursday, coming out to the pitching mound with “Renegade” by Styx playing.

“Renegade” of course is the pump up song the Steelers use to get the crowd and defense amped up during a game.

Former Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree recently described what it's like to be on the field when the song plays.

If you’re looking for some Pirates to get behind this season, Bednar is certainly one of them.

Songs other Pirates are using include Dustin Fowler with “God’s Country” by Blake Shelton, Trevor Chaill with “White Rabbit” by Jefferson Airplane, Colin Moran with “Start Me Up” by The Rolling Stones, Kevin Newman with “Blood on the Leaves” by Kanye West and Gregory Polanco with “Dicen en la Calle” by Omega.
