With an extra day, the weather for the Steelers playoff game in Buffalo has improved but it’s not great.
Several Pittsburgh reporters who were in Buffalo for yesterday’s nasty storm admitted that they probably couldn’t have played a game and some said even if they did, fans would have a nearly impossible time getting to Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.
On the Fan Morning show Monday, Adam Crowley quickly squashed any time of conspiracy between the state of New York and the NFL to give the Bills an advantage.
Crowley says that Hochul, a Buffalo native, is no sports fan.
“One final bit of advice, this one’s for our friends thinking about traveling from Pittsburgh to watch the game, we think it’s just better if you stay home and tune in on television, it will be safer for all of us,” said Hochul as if she was just reading what was written.
She told fans going to the Sabres game on Saturday to leave “after a couple quarters.” Of course, hockey has periods.
“This ain’t no sports fan folks, there’s no conspiracy,” said Crowley.
Forecast today will have windchills near zero or below with winds still going around 20 miles per hour with gusts higher than that and some snow possible.
It won’t be great, but it will be better conditions compared to Sunday.
That means Bills quarterback Josh Allen will have not great, but better conditions for throwing down the field.
If played on Sunday, it wouldn’t been a battle of the run game between the Steelers and Bills, with many believing that would give the Steelers and advantage or at least take away the Bills throwing game.
Now that the weather is a little bit better, Crowley isn’t as optimistic going into Monday afternoon’s game.
“I think the shift now in the weather, the shrift in game time, I think the elements playing a part but not as big as a part gives the Bills a much better chance as we know the Buffalo Bills can look,” said Crowley. “I don’t think the Steelers have a prayer now.”
