Well, it took some time but the curse of the Terrible Towel reared its ugly head, keeping the Jacksonville Jaguars out of the playoffs.
During Week 8, Jaguars safety Andrew Wingard and a few other players were having fun with the towel, waving it around with disregard after Wingard intercepted the Steelers.
Fast forward over two months later and the Steelers are heading to Buffalo to play the Bills and the Jaguars are packing their bags for the offseason after the Tennessee Titans beat Jacksonville to propel Pittsburgh into the postseason.
The Steelers X (formally Twitter) account took a moment Sunday to remind the Jags of their mistake.
The Fan Morning Show said the Jags eff’ed around and found out.
“Because you know what happens? Your franchise quarterback pees down his leg,” said Adam Crowley. “He’s throwing picks to Terrell Edmunds for God sakes.”
If an opposing player disrespected the Terrible Towel or uses it during a celebration, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday, the Towel gets its revenge.
