Those expecting or hoping the Steelers trade quarterback Mason Rudolph before the beginning of the season will likely be disappointed.

Steelers General Manager Omar Khan tells two-time Super Bowl champion and former Steelers cornerback Bryant McFadden they don’t expect to make any changes in the quarterback room.

Mitch Trubisky, Kenny Pickett and Rudolph have all been making their case to be QB1 going into the team’s first game September 11 against the AFC Champion Bengals in Cincinnati.

While it has been Trubisky leading the first team for a majority of the preseason, Pickett has been impressive and has continued to build buzz with his play on the field, while Rudolph has gone from running second team to third.

“I don’t anticipate it will be any different, those three guys are in there, we feel very good about the three quarterbacks, you know, they’re competing,” said Khan on the All Things Covered show.

There has been rumors of the Lions being potentially interested in a deal that would bring Rudolph to Detroit.

The return for the Steelers would likely be a late-round draft pick.

Khan and Mike Tomlin may not thing that’s worth it be lose depth at quarterback.

The 2019 season is still fresh in the mind of the organization after Ben Roethlisberger went out down a season-ending injury and Rudolph was concussed, leaving the team with Devlin “Duck” Hodges.

While it doesn’t sound like Rudolph is going anywhere, a general manager like Khan isn’t going to come out and say they’re looking to make changes.

With the Steelers cutting 7th round quarterback Chris Oladokun last week, it seems like Rudolph will be on the roster.

The remaining question is, will he get a helmet on gamedays or will that go to Pickett?
