Federal agents say the threats were taken seriously, and acted on quickly.
Investigators say Raymond Chandler is accused of leaving multiple voicemails over nearly two weeks, allegedly targeting President Donald Trump and a member of Congress.
Friday, FBI Pittsburgh and the U.S. Secret Service arrested him at a home in Wilkinsburg.
Authorities say while the threats were made through voicemails, Chandler has also posted online, including a YouTube channel where he identifies himself as a candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania.
Officials say the case highlights coordination between federal partners, including U.S. Capitol Police and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Western Pennsylvania, adding they will not tolerate threats of violence.
