PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The starting center back and an impactful running back joining a currently successful ground game with the final practice report out on Friday.
Center Zach Frazier had said earlier in the week that he would return from an ankle injury. Also cleared to play is running back Cordarrelle Patterson, who also had an ankle injury suffered back in the Colts game.
Outside linebacker Nick Herbig seemed to be tracking to playing with a pair of limited practices, but did not practice on Friday and has been ruled OUT. He was trying to get back from a hamstring issue from the Chargers game. Steelers will add outside linebacker Preston Smith, who is likely to see some snaps against the Commanders.
Also out this week is safety Terrell Edmunds who has missed practice all week with an illness. Receiver Ben Skowronek (shoulder) is questionable to return as he starts he journey back from injured reserve. Same with linebacker Tyler Matakevich (hamstring), who is in the final days of them determining if he will be activated or lost for the season coming off injured reserve.
