Of the many Steelers offensive problems, the running game is certainly one of them.
Something that would put them in the right direction would be to make Jaylen Warren your feature running or at least split the time 50/50 with Najee Harris.
Harris has 10 carries for 43 yards. Eight of those carries weren’t good.
One was a 20-yard run and another of 17 before Steelers Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada decided to run a jet sweep.
Warren has six carries and 20 yards, but was the Steelers second best receiver with four catches for 66 yards.
“I would start Jaylen Warren, I’d use him as a receiver help get Kenny Pickett get big plays in the passing game without a lot of risk,” said Adam Crowley on The Fan Morning Show. “I’m not saying Jaylen Warren is LeVeon Bell, but Ben (Roethlisberger) used LeVeon.”
“If you don’t think Jaylen Warren’s the better back at this point, you’re insane,” said Dorin Dickerson.
Dickerson says that Warren just has an explosiveness that Harris doesn’t have right now.
Maybe later in the season, but not right now.
Harris is the Steelers #1 pick from a few seasons ago. Warren signed as an undrafted free agent in 2022.
With so few positives, the Steelers need to take advantage of every small thing going right for them.
