According to United Press International, it could be quite some time before we learn anything official in the horrific accident that killed Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins this past Sunday.
The Florida Highway Patrol tells UPI that it will likely be 90 days at the least, which is typical for traffic homicide investigation.
Patrolwoman Lt. Indiana Miranda tells UPI that multiple cases are investigated at once, compounding the time for a single investigation.
A separate toxicology report is also pending.
Haskins was killed while walking across Interstate I-595 in South Florida early Sunday morning. He was reportedly hit by a dump truck.
Miami-based sports reporter Andy Slater reports that multiple sources tell him an intoxicated woman was traveling with Haskins in the car before he got out of it and started to walk across the street.
“The woman passed out in the disabled car at the scene,” said Slater.
