UPDATE: The Pirates have made the Stallings trade official.
According to a report, Pirates catcher Jacob Stallings is being traded to the Miami Marlins.

According to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal, Stallings will be in South Florida next year, pending a “medical review.”
Earlier in the day Audacy Sports insider Jon Heyman said that there was interest in the Gold Glove-winning catcher.
Stallings hit .246 with eight home runs and 92 hits with 53 RBI in 2021, is set to make $2.6 million in 2022 and is under control through 2024.
According to multiple sources, the Pirates will get right handed pitcher Zack Thompson along with prospects RHP Kyle Nicolas and outfielder Connor Scott.
The 28-year-old Thompson was drafted by the Pirates in the 2011 draft and made his Major League debut in 2021 with the Marlins going 3-7 with a 3.24 ERA.
He had 66 strikeouts and 28 walks over 75 innings pitched. He appeared in 26 games and started in 14 of them.
This is a developing story.
