PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – He was the Panthers leader in scoring and assists and top 10 in the ACC in those categories this season, sophomore guard Jaland Lowe is leaving Pitt for Kentucky.

Third-Team All-ACC this season, Lowe averaged 16.8 points and 5.5 assists while playing over 35 minutes a game. The 6’2” guard came on at the start of ACC play during his freshman season and started his last 50 games.

The Notre Dame game in the ACC Tournament will turn out to be his final game playing 40 minutes, 6-18 field goals (1-5 from 3), 4-4 FT, 17 points, four assists and two steals.

Lowe is one of the highest recruits in Pitt history in terms of prospect rating. Four other players are currently in the portal who were on the Panthers team last year-Jorge and Guillermo Diaz-Graham, Amsal Delalic and Marlon Barnes. There are six currently on the roster from last year in addition to a signed freshman and a transfer for Iowa State.
