The calendar flipped to 2025 last week, and with that came a ramping up of WPIAL and City League basketball action as teams ready for the run towards the postseason.

This season, KDKA Radio will again nominate players each week to join the KDKA Radio Super 7 Awards watch list. Every Monday, a new crop of players will be unveiled based on their efforts that previous week. At the end of the year, KDKA Radio will announce the winners of the award for each WPIAL boys and girls classification, as well as the Pittsburgh City League.

Here are the top performances from Week 4:

RJ Sledge, Imani Christian

Sledge — a Division I recruit — has led the way for the last couple of seasons as Imani Christian became a power in Class 1A. Now he's doing the same this in Class 6A.

The senior guard went for 35 points Thursday, picking up a 72-68 win over Hempfield.

The Saints, which bumped up to Class 6A this season, are currently 6-3 on the year and 4-0 in section play.

Sledge has college offers from Bethune-Cookman, Canisius, NC A&T and Fordham.

Haylie Lamonde, South Fayette

While the South Fayette boys team picked up an eyebrow raising victory last week in their win over Baldwin on KDKA Radio, the Lions' girls team also performed quite well.

On Monday, South Fayette dropped Folsom, California 54-33 in the Tampa Bay Invitational. Upon returning home, the Lions ran away with a section win over Moon Thursday, 63-39. They also scored a non-section win over Bethel Park, 57-34, on Saturday.

Lamonde went for 18, 21 and 17 points in the wins, as South Fayette moved to 11-1 on the season.

A junior, Lamonde is receiving some Division I interest already.

Brady Mayo, Beaver

It was a strong weekend for the Beaver Bobcats with a pair of statement victories.

First, the Bobcats dropped Hopewell Friday night, 65-50, behind 24 points from Mayo.

The next morning, the senior went for 22 as Beaver knocked off Class 1A's top team, Neighborhood Academy, handing them their first loss.

Mayo is a four-sport athlete who is committed to Bucknell for football.

Bailey White, Allderdice

Allderdice is in search of another City League basketball title, and could very well be on their way.

Bailey White is the biggest reason why, as the junior continues to put up impressive performances on a nightly basis.

Last week she scored 18 points in a 41-38 win over Belle Vernon, 15 points in a 79-35  league win over Perry and 24 points in a 77-76 overtime victory over McDowell.

White is the reigning KDKA Super 7 City League Player of the Year.

High school basketball broadcasts continue on KDKA Radio Friday with high school basketball action on the air. Coverage begins at 6 p.m. on 100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA.
