In less than a month, 12 WPIAL boys’ and girls’ basketball champions will be crowned at the Petersen Events Center on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh. The pursuit, however, begins with a field of at least 160 teams entering the playoff tournament on Thursday, Feb. 13.

The anticipation and excitement of learning the opponents, speculation of how the brackets will take shape, and spirited debate of teams’ seedings is all part of the magic of Western Pennsylvania high school basketball.

Much like it was for the 2024 football playoffs, the anticipation, excitement, and wonder culminates at an exclusive destination: KDKA Radio.

As the flagship station and official radio home of the WPIAL, KDKA Radio is pleased to announce WPIAL/KDKA Selection Monday presented by Dave & Busters.

On Monday, Feb. 10 at 2:00 p.m., KDKA Radio’s audio and video platforms will be only destination for schools, student-athletes, their respective communities, and fan bases to learn of their postseason destinations. Playoff pairings, seedings, locations, and game times will be revealed on the KDKA Radio platforms.

"The WPIAL playoffs are the most exciting time of the year,” said Audacy Pittsburgh Senior Vice President and Market Manager Michael Spacciapolli. “As the home of high school basketball in Western Pennsylvania, we are thrilled to provide the basketball brackets exclusively on KDKA Radio.
As so many have come to expect, we will deliver a highly engaging platform for every community on Selection Monday."
