Ben Roethlisberger’s most well-known protector wants Monday night to be entirely about Big Ben.
It’s almost as if he’s been listening to talk radio all season long.
“Ben is a true competitor. They better let every play be about him. Let him call the offense tonight,” he said. “If you’re not going out with a bang, let him do it. Every other great player has done it. Hell, I wouldn’t even say anything to him tonight. ‘Ben, go out there and have fun. Go play.’ That’s the kind of player he is. He’s not the player who’s going to sit in the film room for 35 hours. He’s the player who’s going to go out there and win you football games. He’s a great competitor, so go let him do it.”
Pouncey added he might shoot Mike Tomlin a text, and Art Rooney II an email, to make his point known. The Steelers and Browns kick-off Roethlisberger’s final game at 8:15 p.m.
