PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) The future continues to be bright for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the young Bucs are already showing some minor league success.
The Bradenton Marauders' had two players given big awards for the Low-A Southeast League.
Adrian Florencio was named the Low-A Southeast League Pitcher-of-the-Year, and Endy Rodriguez was named Low-A Most Valuable Player.
Minor League Baseball announced today that the 22-year-old Florencio won the award with a 6-4 record, a 2.46 ERA, and 117 strikeouts.
Florencio became the second Marauder to ever win the award since Tyler Glasnow in 2014.
His 117 strikeouts led the entire Pirates' organization, from single-A to the majors.
The 21-year-old Rodriguez is the third player in Marauders history to win the Low-A MVP Award.
Josh Bell won in 2014 and Alex Dickerson in 2012.
Rodriguez hit for .294 with 25 doubles, 15 home runs, 73 RBIs in 98 games.
According to MLB Pipeline, Rodriguez ranks as the Pirates' 19th-best prospect.
