NFL Insider John Clayton: Mike Tomlin Is My Coach Of The Year Right Now

John Clayton Tells The PM Team How Impressed He Is By Tomlin

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - The Steelers are 7-0, the lone undefeated team left in the league and deserving all sorts of praise across the league.

Mike Tomlin though has yet to really enter Coach of the Year conversations, but our 93.7 The FAN NFL Insider John Clayton told The PM Team that's not the case with him.

"Tomlin not only has them back in the mix for the playoffs, but now the mix for the number one seed being 7-0. That's why I think Tomlin, at the midseason mark, is the coach of the year."

Clayton also talked about the type of coaches who typically win the award and why it doesn't always go to the most deserving coach.

"It's usually the first year coach or second year coach that makes the biggest improvement."

Click the audio to hear more from John as he also talked with the guys about where the Steelers rank in the NFL and how they stack up against the Kansas City Chiefs.
