PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – On the first day of free agent negotiations and with the NFL league year opening on Wednesday, the NFL released the positions and number of the compensatory picks for the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Steelers will get four of the 33 picks awarded for this year’s draft. Only 15 of the 32 teams received additional draft capital. The picks are decided on a formula figuring in the net loss of qualifying unrestricted free agents compared to those signed in 2025. This only factors in players whose contracts expire, not those who were released. It is not an exact science and the NFL has never revealed the exact equation into how it works.

Nevertheless, Here are the additional picks for the Steelers this year:

·     99th pick overall (3rd round)
·     135th pick overall (4th round)
·     214th pick overall (6th round)
·     216th pick overall (6th round)
