USA Today NFL writer Cory Woodroof says if the Pittsburgh Steelers make a trade in-season, it should send running back Najee Harris out of town.

Harris has had two 1,000+ rushing yards in his first two seasons, but he’s averaging 3.9 yards per carry through his career so far.

On the surface, his numbers look good over the first two seasons, but they are inflated by the large number of carries Harris has had.

He’s had one game so far this season over 70 yards, he had 71 in the loss to the Texans.

He had 37 yards in the team’s win against Baltimore.

Woodroof says that the Steelers can use Jaylen Warren as their number one RB and Harris can go to a team that “could better utilize his talents.”

Woodroof wrote, in part:

Harris hasn’t quite been the thousand-yard rusher we’ve gotten used to this season, and it’d be very easy to see a Super Bowl-caliber team calling up the Steelers and seeing if Harris is available.

Woodroof believes the Steelers could get a second-round pick for him.

As Donny Football say, Harris can be a nice player, but he needs to be a home run hitter.

You need a home run hitter when you take a running back in the first round and Harris is not that.
