PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers go back to defense with their third pick in the NFL Draft selecting Ohio State edge rusher Jack Sawyer in the fourth round.

NFL.com is among the highest on Sawyer, saying he will be a plus starter eventually.

A team captain, the 6’5”, 260-pound Sawyer was the Cotton Bowl Defensive MVP after causing a fumble against Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and returning it 83 yards for a touchdown. He had 9 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, an interception and six pass breakups with Ohio State last season.

Steelers defensive coordinator Teryl Austin said Sawyer just has a knack for making plays when they are needed.
