PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Patrick Queen opened up about how much it hurt him that Baltimore didn’t even make him an offer when he became a free agent. He admitted to the emotions he would have and then Mike Tomlin lobbed the shot back at Baltimore.

“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,” Tomlin said. “I’m glad he’s on our team.”

Tomlin even made him a captain so he would go to midfield and represent the Steelers against his old team.

Queen finished with a team-high 10 tackles, but there was more. The former Raven forced a fumble and recovered it along with a tackle for loss.

“Everybody today was like you're going to get one,” Queen said. “This was my dad's birthday too, he was like you've got to get me one. Its just crazy how things work out, though. Knowing I had to come out here and support my team and play as hard as I can for them and just do my job.”

“He got a game ball because he balled,” said Steelers safety DeShon Elliott. “He had a great game today. He was very physical. In back-to-back weeks he showed us the PQ we expected and I think he’s just going to get better.”

Against Washington Queen had a pair of tackles for loss and a pass defended, eight tackles against the Giants and 13 against the Raiders.

“I think at the beginning, I thought back then I would be a little more pissed off,” Queen said of playing against the Ravens. “I woke up this morning, and I didn't feel any anger. I just felt content with life and the game and just being where I'm

supposed to be. God put me in this place for a reason. I was just heated at the situation that occurred. So I just gave my faith to God and trusted Him that I was in the right place for a reason.”

“I’m happy for him, for a guy to be over there last year,” said quarterback Justin Fields. “Didn’t really get much love from the other side. I’m glad for him that he showed out today.”

“That’s my brother, man,” said linebacker Nick Herbig. “I looked at PQ like family. That’s like my blood. If he got a problem, than I got a problem. My brother is feeling some type of way, I’m feeling some type of way. We are all playing off one another.”

We mentioned the turnover for his father on his birthday, he’s got to work on getting back in the good graces of his mother. Queen said his mom asked for the ball if he got a turnover. He forgot.

“She’s probably going to be pissed at me when I get home,” Queen said with a little smile. “I’m not going to get no home-cooked meal for a minute.”

“But everything was how it was supposed to be. I have no anger or animosity towards them. It’s just football.”

Queen found a new home and when he had visitors from his old town, he treated them appropriately.
