The Pirates made several moves ahead of the last three games before the All-Star Break.
Two right-handed relievers, Thomas Harrington and Antwone Kelly are being recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.
To make room on the roster, the Pirates are sending Cam Sanders and Hunter Stratton to Indy.
Harrington made three appearances (one start and two relief) in 2025 has made six starts over 20 appearances this season in Triple-A.
Ranked #12 in the Pirates organization by MLB Pipeline, Harrington has struck out 56 batters over 58 innings of work.
He is 1-5 with a 6.52 ERA this season with a .282 batting average against and 26 walks in 58 innings. Last year at AAA 7-9, 5.34 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 96 innings, 33 walks, 90 strikeouts, 20 home runs allowed. In his last 4 relief outings combined 8.1 innings, 11 hits, 3 walks, 8 earned runs, 9 strikeouts
Kelly has one appearance for the Pirates this season, pitching 2.1 innings with a 7.71 ERA.
The 22-year-old Kelly is 4-5 this season with an ERA of 4.58 over 17 games (12 starts). Coming off 6 scoreless innings allowing 4 hits with a walk and 2 strikeouts and over his last 4 appearances (2 starts) he has lowered his ERA from 7.71 to 4.85.
Sanders had an 8.68 ERA over nine appearances and Stratton had a 5.40 ERA over three appearances in Pittsburgh
