
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – A series of roster moves for the Pirates Sunday including the potential of shutting down a pitcher they recently acquired.
Bryse Wilson, who came over from the Braves at the trade deadline for Richard Rodriguez, started the game on Saturday and has pitched 15 innings, allowing 15 hits, eight runs, a pair of homers, three walks and eight strikeouts. Wilson officially on the 10-day IL with right shoulder fatigue.
Lefty Dillon Peters recalled and made his 2021 MLB season debut Sunday afternoon. Also back, outfielder Ben Gamel, out since August 5 with a right hamstring strain.
Outfielder Anthony Alford, who worked his way back to the majors with a hot few months in AAA, put on the injured list with a lower back strain.

Pirates acquired a new outfielder/first baseman according to Audacy.com Insider Jon Heyman. Yoshi Tsutsugo is 29 and played with the Dodgers and Rays this season. The lefty-hitter had 103 at bats in 38 games hitting .155 with four doubles, no homers and seven RBI. Tsutsugo struck out 39 times to 14 walks. In 2020 with the Rays, Tsutsugo hit .197 with eight home runs and five doubles in 51 games.
Tampa Bay signed him in 2019 to a two-year, $12 million dollar contract to come over from Japan. Tsutsugo designated for assignment in May and eventually traded to the Dodgers. He cleared waivers once, returned to AAA and then outright released by LA on Saturday. Tsutsugo has dealt with a calf injury this season.
Tsutsugo played 10 years in Japan with a career .285 average, 195 doubles, 205 homers, .382 on-base percentage, .528 slugging percentage and .910 OPS.
