The Pirates have made roster moves ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park.
Outfielder Cal Mitchell is being called up from Triple-A Indianapolis.
To make room on the roster, Yohan Ramirez has been optioned to Triple-A.
Mitchell hasn’t played a game in Pittsburgh this season, but played in 69 games to the Pirates last season with a .226 batting average, five home runs, 17 RBI and an OPS of .635.
This season in Indianapolis, he’s batting .276 with seven home runs, 42 RBI and an OPS of .780.
Ramirez was 1-0 with the Pirates with a 3.00 ERA over 19 games. He has 23 strike outs over 24 innings.
