
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pitt football will have five captains this year including a pair of preseason All-Americans.
Announced at the annual Pitt Football Kickoff Luncheon on Friday at Acrisure Stadium, it’s the first time the Panthers have had a handful of captains since 2013.
As selected by teammates
· LB Kyle Louis, redshirt-junior-preseason First-Team All-American, Louis led the team in tackles for loss and interceptions in 2024
· RB Desmond Reid-senior-became the first player in Pitt history with 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving in a single game, name AP All-American.
· DB Javon McIntyre-redshirt-senior-started 26 games at Pitt and is the new leader of the secondary
· OL Lyndon Cooper-redshirt-senior-transfer started all 12 games at center for Pitt last year
· TE Jake Overman-sixth-year-played in all 13 games in his first season at Pitt in 2024
