PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Panthers land a McDonald’s All-American and slam dunk champion from Philadelphia, Joe Tipton of On3/Rivals reports guard Jalil Bethea has committed to Pitt.
Bethea played in 26 games with Alabama last year averaging 3.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.5 assists. The 6’5”, 190-pounder played his freshman season at Miami averaging 7.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 31 games.
Bethea was the Pennsylvania 6A Player of the Year in his final season and a two-time Philadelphia Catholic League MVP at Archbishop Wood HS. He won the McDonald’s All-American and JamFest dunk championships.
Pitt reportedly adds transfer from North Carolina
On Saturday, 6’7”, 190-pound small forward Dominique Diomande from Paris committed. Originally a University of Washington recruit, Diomande played 7.2 minutes per game last season at BYU in 24 games with 1.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.7 steals as a freshman.
