PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Mike Tomlin losing his last six playoff games aren’t just talking points for this week, it’s a topic every day.

It’s not that Tomlin hasn’t had success. Sunday night’s win didn’t just get the Steelers in the playoffs, it tied Tomlin with Pro Football Hall of Famer Chuck Noll for most coaching wins in franchise history in the regular season (193). That’s also the ninth-most in NFL history.

Noll, though, is 16-8 in his postseason career, while Tomlin is 8-11. The last Steelers playoff win was January 15, 2017 at Kansas City (18-16 score) and the last home playoff win, a week earlier against the Dolphins (30-12 score).

Since that point home losses to the Jaguars and Browns giving up 93 points in two games. The last three road playoff losses, all by at least 14 points.

Players said they respect and want to play hard for Tomlin. The Steelers head coach said he carries those playoff losses himself.

“It's not about the organization or myself,” Tomlin said. “It's about this collective. And quite frankly, most of these men don't care. Most of them are new to us. And so that's where my focus is.”

“I'm certainly not gonna unpack my bags on their collector's bed, if you will. I'm excited about doing it, doing it this week with this collective.”
