Poni: Steelers reached out to Saints about WR Shaheed

According to 93.7 The Fan’s Andrew Fillipponi, the Steelers have reached out to another team to inquire about a potential deal for a wide receiver.

Poni says “the Steelers reached out to the Saints during the bye week to take their temperature on WR Rashid Shaheed.”

The 27-year-old undrafted WR out of Weber State in Utah has 22 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns, including an 88-yard touchdown run against the Giants this past weekend, this season.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Shaheed is in the final year of his contract with the Saints. He was an All-Pro in 2023.

He has 116 catches over 38 career games for 1,844 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Shaheed is the latest wide receiver name to be linked to the Steelers.

After DK Metcalf, there isn’t a true number two WR and Calvin Austin III is currently dealing with a shoulder injury.
