PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers facing one of the best wide receiver combos in the game and had corner Joey Porter, Junior and safety DeShon Elliott limited for a second straight day at practice Thursday hours before they were to leave for Ireland and Sunday’s game.

Both players were injured in the season opener against the Jets with Elliott (knee injury) running the secondary in the middle and Porter (hamstring) with Slay as the starting corners allowing Jalen Ramsey to move around.

If they are able to get them back, it would allow the defense to adjust quicker to what Minnesota would throw at them.

“Familiarity with being here and being with me and in this system allows you to do some things,” said Steelers defensive coordinator Teryl Austin. “It gives you some flexibility because sometimes you get in a game and there’s some things you may not have worked on. We go, ‘hey, we need this in this game’. “Hey guys we are going to do this’. They will have recall and may be able to get to those things where when you have new guys, that’s not the case. You got to figure out and deal with what you put in that week.”

Steelers will practice one more time Friday in Ireland.
