According to a report, the Steelers are bringing in wide receiver Gabe Davis for a visit later this week.
The former Buffalo Bill and Jacksonville Jaguar is expected to visit the Steelers on Thursday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Released by Jacksonville on May 7, the Jags owed Davis $11.5 million after releasing him, partly because of his injury.
Davis appeared in 10 games for Jacksonville last season, starting in 9.
He had 20 catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns in 2024 before suffering a meniscus tear in his left knew
Taken by the Bills in the fourth round of the 2020 draft, Davis has appeared in 74 career games with 183 catches for 2,969 yards and 29 touchdowns.
Schefter adds that the Steeler are also, “not expected to trade for, Miami TE Jonnu Smith.”
“I like Gabe Davis,” said Crowley on The Fan Morning Show. Crowley calls Davis a good player if he can get healthy.
But Crowley says he would rather have WR Amari Cooper but at this point, “I’d take anybody.”
Maybe trying to hype himself up about Davis, Crowley says that Davis has scored more touchdowns compared to George Pickens recently. So, there’s that.
With the money he was owed by Jacksonville, Davis would likely be a cheaper option for the Steelers.
