It’s been reported that Mike Tomlin told his players he will be returning to coach the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024.

He has one more year left on his deal and if he wants to be successful in 2024, the organization needs to hire an offensive coordinator that can jump start the offense.

While he is still employed, Ben Roethlisberger believes there is one person the Steelers should look at, if the Cowboys fire him.

That would be current head coach and Pittsburgh native Mike McCarthy, but he isn’t sure if it would be a good dynamic to have essentially two head coaches on staff.

“I think he’s a brilliant mind, he’d be awesome, but I don’t know,” said Roethlisberger during a live episode of his Footbahlin podcast. “As a head coach guy, like Tomlin’s a head coach, sometimes having two head-coach personalities, some guys it doesn’t work. Just think that’s an interesting one.”

McCarthy was the Green Bay Packers Head Coach when they beat Roethlisberger, Tomlin and the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.

McCarthy is an offensive-minded coach, who led the Cowboys to a 12-5 record and the #2 seed in the NFC Playoffs.

But, they were upset by the 7-seed Green Bay Packers.

McCarthy might be fired, but don’t be surprised if Jerry Jones sticks with the Pittsburgh native.
