Andrew Fillipponi talked about a rumor he heard, not a report, on Wednesday’s edition of The PM Team.
A package deal to Pittsburgh, former Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Arthur Smith and former Steelers O-line coach Mike Munchak.
Smith would be offensive coordinator and Mike Munchak would take over for Pat Meyer, who currently hold the position.
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that over seven teams are interested in talking to Smith. Eight teams are looking for an OC, so, every team.
Smith was fired after the 2023 season. In three seasons with the Falcons, he went 7-10 each season with the 8th overall draft pick every season.
Smith is currently taking time after being fired and hasn’t done any interviews yet.
Smith has connections to Dick LeBeau and was a quality control coach under Munchak while Head Coach of the Tennessee Titans in 2011.
Munchak coached the Steelers between 2014-2018. Considered one of the better offensive lines in the NFL during that time.
There have been reports that Munchak has wanted to get back in coaching.
He left the Steelers to be closer with his family in Denver and was the Broncos line coach from 2019-2021.
