PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Drafted in the final round, moving to a relatively new position, missing a part of camp with an injury, making the 53-man roster and now Mt. Lebanon HS star Eli Heidenreich is ACTIVE for the first Steelers game of 2026.
Heidenreich said he will have a lot of family from immediate to aunts, uncles, grandparents.
Likely Heidenreich would get his most of his time on special teams, saying his experience at Navy prepared him well playing every phase in college.
Heidenreich played in a pair of games in the preseason, but this is different.
“You get your feet wet a little bit, but the regular season is a different animal,” Heidenreich said. “It’s faster and got different guys out there. It’s not the same game.”
