Feels like each story about the Steelers Offensive Coordinator Matt Canada need to be prefaced.
Yes, the Steelers problems are many, but there isn’t a bigger issue than the continued employment of the current OC.
Speaking on ESPN’s “Get Up” Monday morning, former Steelers safety Ryan Clark let the Steelers have it.
“Stop bumping your head up against the Matthew Canada wall,” said Clark.
Clark adds they should just send him back to Pitt (Pat Narduzzi wouldn’t be having any of that).
Clark says he’s even willing to take him at LSU, where he played college ball, “if he can coach defense, because our offense does well.”
Clark summed it up, calling the offense “sickening.”
“I expect wholesale changes,” added Clark.
But what are those changes? Does that mean firing Canada midseason?
That’s something most Steelers insiders, including Mark Kaboly said on The Fan Morning Show Monday morning.
Kaboly says whatever changes that are made won't be noticeable to fans.
The Steelers are stuck with the offensive plan with or without Canada.
But after 40 games and the offense not gaining 400 yards or more since he arrived, getting rid of Canada can’t hurt.
Just look at the call on 4th & 1, they lined up in shotgun for crying out loud.
