Steelers add corner, linebacker during Indy week

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Another corner addition for the Steelers on Tuesday picking up Terell Smith from the Washington practice squad and also added a practice squad linebacker.




The 27-year-old Smith is a 2023 fifth-round pick of the Bears out of Minnesota. He played 26 games with six starts between the 2023-24 seasons with an interception, 10 passes defensed and 68 tackles. The 6', 204-pounder missed last year with a knee injury. He was Honorable Mention All-Big Ten as a senior with the Golden Gophers.

Linebacker KJ Henry added to the practice squad. The 6’4”, 255-pounder as played for four other teams over three seasons (Washington, Cincinnati, Dallas and Cleveland). He’s played in 15 games starting three with 22 tackles with 2.5 sacks. He was originally signed to a futures contract this year by the Steelers, released on June 25, signed with the 49ers and released on August 12.

Steelers released linebacker Bradyn Swinson from the practice squad.
